I William Applegate of the Township of Dover, County of Ocean and State of New Jersey, do hereby make and publish this my last will and testament as follows:
First It is my will and I do order that all my just debts and funeral expenses be duly paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently can be after my decease.
Item It is my will and I do order that my Executor hereinafter named, as soon as conveniently can be after my decease sell at public venue all my real estate and moveable property and invest the proceeds thereof after paying my just debts and funeral expenses, as well as the expenses of settling my estate, in bond and mortgage or real estate situate in the County of Ocean, New Jersey
Item It is my will and I do order that the sum of seventy five dollars of the principal sum ordered to be invested as aforesaid, shall be paid to the guardian of my daughter Hester for the maintenance and education of my said daughter yearly and every year until she arrives at the age of eighteen years.
Item It is my will and I do order that the interest arising from the sum invested by my executors (after paying the sum of seventy five dollars yearly) shall be paid to my beloved wife Hannah each and every year during her natural life.
Item It is my will and I do order that after the decease of said wife the balance of my estate remaining in the hands of my executor be divided between my children now living or their legal representative share and share alike.
Lastly I hereby appoint my loving wife Hannah guardian of my daughter Hester during her minority and my trusty and well beloved friend George W. Coperthwait executor of this my last will and testament
