    Services for Leo C. Applegate, 73, Patton, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Miller-Voorhis Funeral Home. He died at 4 p.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Lafayette. He had been ill seven years. He was born June 9, 1915, in Bardstown, Ky., to Louis and Flora E. Krebs Applegate. He was married Oct. 29, 1940, in Monticello, to Mary Dutton, who survives. He had moved to Patton in 1949 from Monticello. He retired in 1980 after working 34 years at RCA. He also was employed at Robbins Bakery for several years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served on a destroyer tender in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Redman and Eagles lodges. Also surviving are two daughters, Carolyn J. Fear, Hershey, Neb., and Marilyn A. Rowland, Dayton, Ohio; two brothers, Charles and John, both of Monticello; two sisters, Anna Totten, Monticello, and Rose Totten, South Bend; several nieces and nephews; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Two brothers preceded in death. The Rev. Carl D. Baker will officiate at the service. Burial, with military rites, will be in Chalmers Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home.
