Will of William Applegate/Appelget 5A3B1D New Jersey Archives 12624L Proved Decemb 14 A.D. 1852 Recorded in Middlesex County Surrogates Office in Book E of Wills pages 431 and 432 In the name of God, Amen I William Applegate of the Township of South Amboy, County of Middlesex and State of New Jersey being of sound mind memory and understanding do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say: First, it is my will and I do order that all my just debts and funeral expenses be duly paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently can be after my decease; Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Matilda Applegate all my household goods and furniture of every kind and description and all my hogs, cow, wagons harnesses seines and boats and all my farming utensils of every description to her only proper use and her heirs and assigns forever Item: I give and devise unto my beloved wife Matilda Applegate all my right and interest in the house and lot where I now live also all my lands, tenements, hereditaments, and real estate, whatsoever and wheresoever to her only proper use her heirs and assigns forever Item: It is my will that my wife Matilda Applegate support so far as she is able so to do my six youngest children Elsey M. Applegate Mathew Applegate, Mary Ann Applegate, Elizabeth Applegate, Wilnet W. Applegate and Alameda Applegate until they shall respectively arrive at the age of eighteen years, and also support so far as she is able so to do my daughter Catherine Applegate until she marries. Lastly I hereby appoint my sons Abraham V. Applegate and Charles Applegate executors of this my last will and testament William Applegate
