Dear Sir

[A]fter giving our Best Respects to you and family I inform you that we are enjoying good health at preasant and hoping these lines may find you all enjoying the same Blising. I have not gone down the River as I expected on the account of its geting so late in the season. [T]he winter set in here in November and the ice has Been Runing ever since But shall go down in the spring as soon as the River opens.

Wee have got to Keeping house and it looks verry odd to see only two in a house. But Maria sais she is satisfied and contented with the country. I have particulars to write you But wish to let you Know that wee are well and wish you to write us. I left the letter you gave me at Maucksport for your father.

No more at preasant but Remain yours & c
